Dictionary acquisition project
From A Cat's Wiki
The dictionary acquisition project collects phoneme transcriptions of German words using a slightly reduced set of the IPA. The Wiktionary Transcription Guideline should be regarded when submitting transcriptions. The goal is to create a German pronunciation dictionary (licensed under the GPL) that meets the requirements of current and future open source speech recognition software and text-to-speech applications.
[edit] Pronunciation Lexicon Specification
Because XML-related standards are getting more and more important in the world of software development, there will be an edition that employs the Pronunciation Lexicon Specification. You may find a German pronunciation lexicon that employs IPA/PLS at VoxForge (just download and extract the archive "Lexicon.tgz"). A first version (IPA/PLS) is being discussed here. Currently, it is not known whether applications exist that would benefit from such a German PLS lexicon.
[edit] Compatibility with Simon
It is possible that the Simon project will benefit from the dictionary acquisition project. It is planned to make the lexicon compatible with Simon, but the details aren't discussed yet.
